A theatre built for Noh, Japan's centuries-old masked drama, completed in 1986 in the north-west corner of the park.
Completed in 1986, the Ohori Park Noh Theatre is a hall built specifically for Noh and Kyōgen, classical stage arts that go back more than 600 years. Inside, the traditional wooden stage keeps its own roof within the auditorium — a reminder that Noh was once performed on outdoor stages.
Performances, recitals and workshops take place throughout the year, some designed for first-time visitors. If a performance is on during your stay, it is one of the most authentic cultural experiences in Fukuoka.
Practical Information
The theatre opens only for scheduled performances and events. Check its website for the programme and tickets.
