A 2 km path around the pond with separate lanes for walking, running and cycling — Fukuoka's favourite running track.
The path that circles the pond is about 2 kilometres long and has distance markers, so it is easy to measure a run. It is divided into lanes: closest to the water a brick-paved walking path, then a planted strip, a rubber-surfaced running lane, and on the outside an asphalt lane for bicycles.
From early morning until late at night you will see runners, walkers and families here. In 1995 the race walk of the Fukuoka Universiade was held on this very loop.
Practical Information
Runners should use the rubber-surfaced inner lane and watch out for children and older visitors. Groups running together need permission from the park office. Keep your belongings with you — thefts from unattended bags have been reported.
