Rent a swan pedal boat or a rowing boat and see the islands, bridges and Ukimido from the water.
The Boat House is where you get out onto the pond. Choose a swan-shaped pedal boat — a small one for two or a large one for a family — or a classic rowing boat, and glide past the islands, under the bridges and up to Ukimido.
From the water the park and the city around it look completely different, and on a sunny day it is one of the most relaxing ways to spend half an hour in Fukuoka.
Practical Information
Prices (tax included, per 30 minutes)
Small swan boat — ¥1,200, then ¥400 per extra 10 min. Up to 2 adults + 1 elementary-school child, or 2 children aged 5 or under.
Large swan boat — ¥1,800, then ¥500 per extra 10 min. Up to 4 adults + 1 child aged 5 or under, or 3 adults + 2 children of elementary-school age or younger.
Rowing boat — ¥800, then ¥200 per extra 10 min. Up to 2 adults + 1 elementary-school child, or 2 children aged 5 or under.
Electric-assist swan pedal boats are also available.
Hours: from 11:00 on weekdays and 10:00 on weekends and holidays. April–August until 18:00 (last rental 17:30); September–March until around sunset (last rental about an hour before). Hours may change at short notice in rain or strong wind.
