The city's art museum at the southern end of the park, with everything from Buddhist treasures to modern art — and a café looking out over the trees.

Fukuoka Art Museum stands at the southern end of the park. Its collection ranges from historic Japanese art — including Buddhist statues from Tōkō-in temple — to modern and contemporary works from Japan and around the world, shown in changing collection displays alongside special exhibitions.

Since its renovation and reopening in 2019, the museum has a bright entrance facing the park, artworks outside around the building, and a café and restaurant where you can rest with a view of the greenery.

Open 9:30–17:30 (last entry 17:00); until 20:00 on Fridays and Saturdays from July to October. Closed Mondays (or the next weekday if Monday is a holiday) and 28 December – 4 January.
