The "Parent and Child Jizo," erected in 1981 in memory of a police officer who died in the line of duty while responding to a traffic accident, offers prayers for the safety of all police officers and an end to traffic accidents.

This Parent and Child Jizo statue was erected in July 1981 (Showa 56) in memory of a Fukuoka Police Department officer who died in the line of duty while handling a traffic accident. Through the image of a mother and child standing close together, the statue watches over the happiness of the fallen officer's family while also providing protection to the many police officers still working in the field today. It embodies prayers for the prevention of even a single traffic accident.
