Reading a guide

You do not need to give us any personal information to scan a QR code and read a multilingual guide. Your language choice is stored only in your own browser.

Information we collect

• When you contact us or list a place: your name, the name of your place, your email address, and any details you share in your message.
• Business accounts: if you manage a listing, the login details for your account and the content you provide (text, photos, opening hours, etc.).
• Payments: payments for a listing are handled by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.
• Privacy-friendly analytics: we record aggregate, non-identifying statistics — such as the country a visit comes from and how visitors arrived (for example, a search engine or a QR code). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of individuals.
• Technical data: basic information such as IP address and browser type, processed by our hosting provider to serve and secure the site.

How we use it

• To operate the service, publish and translate the guides, and manage listings and accounts.
• To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
• To understand, in aggregate, how the guides are used so we can improve them.
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers needed to run the service, and only as necessary:

• Database & hosting — the providers that store our data and serve the website.
• Email — our email delivery provider, used to send and receive messages.
• Payments — our payment provider, for listing purchases.

We may also disclose information where required by law.

Translations

Guide content is translated into multiple languages with the help of automated translation, reviewed for quality. Translations are provided in good faith to help visitors understand each place.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use only essential cookies, such as those that keep you signed in to a business or admin account. Our visitor analytics are cookie-free.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal and accounting requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Aggregate analytics contain no personal identifiers.
