Fukuoka City Science Museum

Opened in October 2017. The museum's honorary director is Koichi Wakata, an astronaut and graduate of Kyushu University's Graduate School.

The permanent exhibition on the fifth floor features interactive displays centered on the themes of "Space," "Environment," "Daily Life," "Life," and "The Future," allowing visitors of all ages to learn science while having fun.

The Dome Theater (planetarium) on the sixth floor boasts one of Kyushu's largest facilities, with a diameter of 25 meters and 220 seats. It combines optical projection equipment that recreates a starry sky remarkably close to nature with high-resolution (equivalent to 8K) digital projection technology to deliver immersive, captivating imagery.

Each show runs approximately 45 minutes, consisting of about 15 minutes of live commentary followed by approximately 30 minutes of programmed content, with some programs featuring live narration throughout. The museum also regularly hosts events such as "STARRY NIGHT JAM," which blends music and art with the astronomical experience.
